This Privacy Policy explains how Unique Captains Driver App (the "App") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when drivers use the App.
The App is used by drivers to sign in, manage assigned trips, update trip status, upload required driver documents, share live location during duty, and communicate with the service platform.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
A. Account and Profile Information
- Name
- Mobile number
- Login credentials
- Driver ID / badge / profile details
- Organization or fleet assignment
- Driver approval and availability status
B. Identity and Verification Documents
To onboard and verify drivers, the App and related platform may collect and store documents such as:
- Driver photo
- Driving license
- Aadhaar or other identity documentation submitted through the platform
These documents may be stored through secure backend systems and cloud storage providers used by the service. They may be retained for the period needed to operate the account, complete compliance checks, resolve disputes, and meet legal or tax obligations.
C. Location Information
The App may collect location data when:
- You enable location access
- You are marked available or on duty
- You are tracking or performing a trip
- You capture trip-related actions that include GPS metadata
Location data may be used for live trip tracking, duty and attendance workflows, and operational audit records. The App does not require location access for every screen, but some trip and attendance features will not function correctly without it.
Location data may include latitude, longitude, heading, speed, accuracy, and related trip timing context.
D. Camera and Photo Information
The App uses the device camera to capture operational images required for trip workflows, such as trip-start photos or other driver workflow evidence. Captured photos may include time and location metadata when available and permitted by the device.
E. Trip and Operational Information
We may collect and process:
- Assigned trip details
- Pickup and drop information
- Trip status updates
- Trip start and end timestamps
- Attendance or availability data
- Earnings or fare-related information shown to the driver
F. Device and App Information
We may collect limited technical information such as:
- App version and build number
- Device platform details
- Session and authentication state
- Permission settings related to notifications and location
G. Local Device Storage Information
The App stores some information locally on the device to support login, settings, and app usage. This may include:
- Secure session tokens
- Notification preference settings
- Location tracking preference settings
- Onboarding-completion flags and similar app state
Sensitive session data is intended to be stored using secure device storage where supported.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate drivers and maintain secure sessions
- Provide trip assignment and trip management functionality
- Enable location-based duty and trip tracking features
- Verify driver identity and documents
- Support attendance, availability, and operational workflows
- Capture and store trip-related evidence when required

3. Permissions Used by the App
Depending on your device and operating system, the App may request access to:
Location
Used to support driver tracking, trip operations, and trip-related GPS capture.
Camera
Used to take required trip or driver-related photos.
Storage / Media Access
May be used when handling images or app assets required for driver workflows, depending on platform behavior.
Notifications
Used to show trip alerts, service updates, and operational notifications.
You may control some permissions through your device settings, but disabling certain permissions may limit the App's functionality.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information only as necessary for operating the service, including with:
- Platform administrators and authorized operations staff
- Backend infrastructure and database providers
- Cloud storage providers used for driver documents and uploaded files
- Messaging and notification providers used for OTP delivery, alerts, communications, hosting, security, or infrastructure
- Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law or valid legal process
We do not state that we sell personal information. Information is used primarily to provide and operate the driver service platform.
5. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including secure session handling and controlled backend access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the App and related services
- Maintain operational and trip records
- Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, audit, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and applicable legal or business requirements.
7. Driver Choices
You may be able to:
- Update certain profile details through the platform
- Change notification-related settings in the App
- Change location-related settings in the App or device settings
- Contact the service operator to request correction or deletion of certain information, subject to operational and legal requirements
Please note that some account, trip, document, and compliance records may need to be retained even after a request is made.
8. Children's Privacy
This App is intended for use by adult drivers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Third-Party Services
The App and platform may rely on third-party providers for hosting, storage, notifications, authentication support, and related infrastructure. For example, OTP and messaging delivery may use MSG91 or a similar provider. Those providers may process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated version should be posted with a revised "Last updated" date.
